IPFMA ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2007

Oct 2007
The theme of the 2007 IPFMA Conference was "The Vertical Boulevard, the Future for Mixed Use Development". In recent months, in Dublin, very large sums of money have been paid for relatively small parcels of land. We believe the developers will seek to secure their investment with landmark buildings and vertical intensification.

Dublin has no tall buildings and the planners have resisted, in the past, granting permission for any form of skyscraper. The conference theme reflects on the feasibility for the Architect, Planner, Developer and Financier to deliver a sustainable residential and commercially viable development, together with how it is marketed and managed. The Conference will debate the experience of other countries and introduce Dublin to the 21st century.

The conference was chaired by Cliodhna O'Donoghue, Property Editor of the Irish Independent. The speaker line up was as follows:Internationally Acclaimed Architect, Eric R. Kuhne, Dr. Brendan Williams, Planning (UCD), Owen O'Neill, Director of Lending at Anglo Irish Bank, John Bruder from Treasury Holdings and Michael Ostinelli from Ostinelli and Associates.

The conference was held in Croke Park, a exciting new venue with an increased capacity, in order to build on the the successes of previous years.
